Internet viral videos have been everywhere lately. From the Leave Britney Alone! (language) guy in the movie Meet The Spartans to the South Park episode Canada On Strike! just a few weeks ago in which viral videos play a huge part, Internet sensations have never crossed over into the real world so easily or so readily. It’s only natural that Weezer, probably the geekiest band to ever make it big, should mine the depths of YouTube for the subjects of their latest video for their new single, Pork and Beans.
If you’re anything like me, you’ll watch the video a hundred times. Not just because it’s a catch tune (probably their best first single since "El Scorcho" off Pinkerton), but because you’ll be playing ‘count the internet megastars’. You’ll know most of them, if not all of them. More impressively, I think it’s the legitimate folks involved in the video, not just clever post production work. Nice to see Afro Ninja recovered from his serious head injury.
