Musical Monday: Thriller In Second Life

I know a lot of people who have been huge fans of Second Life at one point or another. Most of them have drifted onto other games and virtual worlds thanks to SL’s massive increase in required system resources over the past year or so (that’s what drove me away, since SL won’t play on my gaming laptop), but there’s still a fairly sizable community out there who devote a lot of time to playing in their virtual sandbox. That’s where Massively found this Second Life’d version of Thriller!

It’s a shame that SL is such a resource hog, because you can have a blast just customizing and editing your avatar. Of course, it takes a special effort and some programming skills (or an infinite amount of Lindens, the in-game currency) to make your character look as good as the ones you see in this video and at other places on the Internet. However, from wings to leather jackets, whatever you want can be purchased and worn on your character. There is literally no limit to the modifications you can make to your avatar, which other games would do well to emulate.
