One of the best purchases I’ve made, technology wise, has been my laptop. While it’s great to be able to roam around the house and type up blog posts or write or play games, there are some limitations for what can be done. While laptops are portable, they’re not perfectly portable.
For one thing, if I want to sit at the TV and do reviews for Den of Geek, I have to make special arrangements. Either I have to find and clean off one of the TV trays, which are too small to fit both my laptop and my mouse, or I have to sit at the kitchen table and move things around, which has its own set of problems as it kind of takes away from my ability to actually look at the TV. If I wanted an obstructed view from halfway across the room, I could just clean off my desk and set my laptop up there (or be a total wildman and just use my old desktop).
I really need to invest in something like The Gamers Desk, from Lapworks, since my laptop is becoming my system of choice. It’ll keep the unit from overheating and make it much more portable. The last thing I need while playing on my laptop is to get myself a nasty grid-shaped burn on my legs. I’m just not sure what kind of product I should get. Do any of you have any good recommendations for a laptop board or a laptop docking station?
