In spite of the awful name, Shape Boxing Wii de Enjoy Diet looks like a game I’m going to enjoy a great deal.  It combines two things I love:  boxing and getting into shape!  I’ve wondered before about the fitness possibilities of the Wii and its games (without buying Wii Fit), and here’s a game that looks like it’s going to be a workout!

The game is going on sale in Japan starting October 30, but plans are already in the works by Rocket Company to translate the game and bring its 28 lessons into the United States.  I think there’s a huge untapped market for fitness games that don’t require special equipment, and the sooner someone can tap that market the better.  Nobody likes exercising; everyone likes video games!

If I found out that Rock Band drumming helped me lose weight, then I’d definitely be putting in an hour a day pounding the plastic drumkit.  I know I can feel it in my arms when I drum or play Wii Sports, and I also know I sweat up a storm, so it has to be doing something good, right?
