For some reason, the place that I work is quite possibly the coldest place I’ve ever spent 8 hours at a time, and I used to work in a grocery store with a meat freezer. It gets so cold sometimes that my knuckles crack and my fingers stiffen up, even when I have my winter coat on indoors. Obviously, considering I have to type all day as part of my job, this is a bad thing.
One solution I’ve considered is picking out some sort of USB hand warmer device of some sort. I found a good one over at Engadget called quite simply the USB Hand Warmer. That’s good and all, but you can’t really use that and work at the same time, so I might have to pick up a Mouse Hand Warmer from IGM Products. It’s a lot simpler, being basically a blanket with a mousepad inside, but sometimes the simplest solutions are the best.
I have an electric blanket on my bed right now, and that’s like… the best of both worlds. Maybe you could slip the USB Hand Warmer into the Mouse Hand Warmer’s blanket-like bag and get twice the positive benefit!
