I love year-end lists. If it's a best of or a worst of, I'll always be there to check it out because I want to know what I should either buy or not buy. When it comes to video games, since I don't go rent them anymore, I'm kind of clueless as to what I'd want to purchase, so I depends on things like Game Pro's 17 Worst Games of 2008 list to help me avoid the stinkers. The presence of Wii Music, which has apparently been a serious disappointment is not surprising, but the very first game listed caught my eye.
The game, Target Terror, reminds me a whole lot of a game I pumped hundreds of quarters into back in my younger days. I believe it was this game, but I could be wrong. Either way, you were some sort of law man using a light gun to zap down crooks and criminals in the Old West. Even as a kid, I knew it was some of the worst acting I'd ever seen, but the one-liners were so goofy and it was so much fun to fire a plastic gun at 'real people' that it was always my first (and sometimes only) stop at the arcade.
The nostalgia hit me so hard that I very nearly bought the game just to play an antique rail shooter. Then I realized just how lousy I was at those games, and how lousy this game itself was, and decided against it.
