Samsung has really accelerated the Megapixel Wars when it comes to camera phones. From the Samsung Flipshot with it’s beefy (for the time) 3 megapixel resolution camera to its latest device, the Pixon 12, Samsung has been cramming more and more picture resolution into its camera phones. But will it take a better picture? Engadget says that it might not.
The cameraphone itself is loaded with features. Besides the 12 megapixel camera, it also has a touch screen, real camera flash, Smart Auto setting control, touch auto focus, video camera, GPS, FM radio, 150 megabytes of internal storage, and an SD slot good to hold a 16GB MicroSD card. Even if you don’t need the camera, Samsung has made a good case as to why you might want one anyway.
My cameraphone has become my digital camera’s replacement about 95% of the time. My digital camera is heavier, clumsier, and eats batteries like crazy, but my cell phone is always with me. When it’s time to upgrade my current phone, I’m definitely going to take a good look at Samsung’s Pixon 12.

Have you seen a professional camera lately? 12mp is nothing! This isn’t a cameraphone, it’s a camera that you can make phone calls on.
