Only 13 years after the final episode of the show aired, Legacy Interactive has picked up the rights to produce and distribute a game based on the adventures of geriatric PI Jessica Fletcher. That’s right, someone’s finally making a Murder, She Wrote video game! And it’s going to have all your favorite characters from the show involved, too! Assuming that you haven’t forgotten CBS in the years 1984-1996. I’d like to think most of us have.
What’s next? Golden Girls: The Quest for Sophia’s Teeth? Matlock vs. Andy Griffith World Tour? Jumping Sharks With Fonzie And Pals? Just when you thought it was safe to consider an IP buried for good, someone has the bright idea to make a point and click computer game for it. The House M.D. video game that was also announced makes slightly more sense, since most of the people who watch House are still alive.
Yeah, I’m secretly excited by this idea despite my bluster. I don’t see how it could possibly be any good, but I’m willing to try any game so long as it is cheap. Let’s hope this game is in my price range, because it’s just weird enough that I absolutely HAVE to try it at least once, provided they get Angela Lansbury on board for the voice-overs.
