    Housewarming Gifts For Geeks

I’m in the middle of beginning a search for a place of my own.  Finally.  Not just a rental, either.  I’m looking for something to own.  It’s a very intimidating process, and it’s a very frightening idea that I may end up being responsible for some house somewhere, but I think it’s about time I become an official adult (with some help from Shak and Jill).

however, the one thing about moving into a new place (or any place) is knowing what kind of stuff you want to put up on the walls.  Apparently once you’re out of dorms, it’s no longer kosher to just stick posters up everywhere and call your wall of Blues Brothers swag decoration.  Being a grown-up requires stuff that’s a bit more crafty and, dare I say, artistic.  That’s why I recommend everyone take a look at the Mental Floss list of housewarming gifts/crafts for video game nerds.

While some of the things on the list aren’t practical, I think everyone can use coasters, potholders, clocks, and salt and pepper grinders!  What are your must-haves for home (or condo) ownership?
