    iConfiscate Your iPhone

If you have an iPhone, whatever you do, DO NOT try to take a picture of Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer with it, because he doesn’t take too kindly to that.  Well, okay, he took it in good humor and even had a little fun with it, but still.  Maybe it’s best to bust out a Samsung or Nokia or any other kind of cameraphone not made by the competition.

Then again, the iPhone is the hot, trendy phone right now.  I’m not a big fan of AT&T’s lousy cell phone reception, nor am I really a big fan of having such an expensive, droppable device on my person.  If the iPhone wasn’t so expensive, or if it was a little more resistant to breakage, I might consider it.  Until the price drops and they unlock the iPhone from one specific company, though, I’m not remotely tempted.  The last thing I need is another thing to distract me from my own thoughts.

What about you, Shak readers?  Are you tempted by the iPhone?  Do you have things that you’d like changed about the iPhone before you pick one up?  Or are you resistant to the iPhone’s hype machine?

Sometimes I am tempted. My friend has one and the mapping feature is nice.

I’m not a big fan of AT&T either. After some especially bad customer service, I went to Verizon. I kind of hope the rumor of a Verizon version is true, because then I could have access anywhere. But then again, I would have to upgrade from my really cheap plan, and it would just be another distraction. I’m probably one of the few who still does not Twitter from my phone.

The iPhone doesn’t tempt me in the slightest, considering all the complaints I hear from people who own one. It’s kind of a moot point, though, since you couldn’t pay me to use AT&T, either.
