    Viral Backlash-Smash An iPad

It’s one of the oddest videos I’ve ever seen.  It’s one of the weirdest tales I’ve ever read.  Apparently, on opening night, some teens in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, went down to their local Best Buy, picked up a brand-new iPad, walked it out to the parking lot, and then proceeded to demolish it.  That’s right, teens destroy a brand new iPad just because they can.  There’s no rhyme or reason to the destruction, there’s no anti-corporate stance, there’s no hidden message.  There’s just a love of destruction, according to 19-year-old Justin Kocott, the brain behind the shattering.

And boy, do they really work that iPad over!  They drop it on the concrete (breaking the screen instantly), pulverize it with an aluminum baseball bat, and finally, give it a curb-stomping to officially bent and beat it all beyond recognition.  Next on the list of stuff to smash is apparently a brand-new 3DTV.  It must be nice to throw away hundreds of dollars for no apparent reason.

(Warning, there’s one F-bomb in the video, but to the best of my knowledge, that’s the only obscenity.  It’s also from a background person, not the smasher/smashee.)

[...] hope, for that owner’s sake, that Iggy is declawed, otherwise he may as well just smash that iPad.  Those screens are pretty easily scratched up, touch pad or not, and there’s no telling [...]
