So you want to play Angry Birds, but you don’t have an iPod Touch, iPad, Android device, or some other thing that will actually play Angry Birds. For most of the game’s lifespan, that would mean you’re not able to actually play. That’s all about to change. Angry Birds is coming to your home video game console.
“The backgrounds have been animated, we’ve added lighting modes, reactive backgrounds, the list goes on and on,” Petri Jarvilehto, Rovio’s VP of games. ”We believe that there are a lot of people on the consoles who appreciate a great casual game play experience. This is a game that resonates across a wide audience on many platforms.”
Rovio is working with Activision on the project, which will bring three of the Angry Birds games (the original, Angry Birds Rio, and Angry Birds Seasons) to the XBox, PlayStation 3, and Nintendo 3DS hand-held. The updated Angry Birds will feature motion controls via Kinect and PS Move, as well as Nintendo’s StreetPass.
